A Sea View Holiday Villa in Corsica, First Line Over the Gulf
Some villas advertise a sea view that turns out to be a sliver of blue between rooftops. Ours is the opposite: both houses sit on the hillside above Stagnolu bay in La Trinité de Porto-Vecchio, with nothing between your terrace and the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. You wake to the sea, swim facing it, and watch the light change over it every evening.
What "first line" actually means here
Villa Giulietta and Villa Giulio stand 40 metres apart on the same hillside, each sleeping 10 guests across 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Being first line means the panorama is not a feature of one room: it follows you from the pool to the dining table. At Giulio, the large heated saltwater pool facing the gulf faces the gulf directly, so the water of the pool appears to pour into the water of the bay. At Giulietta, a belvedere set among the vines and olive trees of the 1600 m² grounds gives you a raised viewpoint over the same sweep of coastline. Five sea-view bedrooms at Villa Giulio
If falling asleep and waking up to the Mediterranean is the point of your trip, Villa Giulio is built for it. All 5 bedrooms look out over the sea, including 3 suites of more than 20 m² each. The 75 m² living room and 160 m² of terraces carry the same outlook, and a floor-cooling system keeps the house comfortable in high summer. There is even an island bathtub, a library and a private cinema room for the one evening you decide to look at a screen instead of the gulf. Details and photos are on the full visit page.
Sunset swims from May to October
The view is at its best at the end of the day, when the light softens over the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. Because both pools are heated saltwater pools, evening swims are genuinely pleasant from May right through October: sunset in the water is a daily ritual here, not a summer-only treat. Giulietta's 13×4 m pool includes a children's basin beside a 150 m² teak terrace with a summer kitchen and plancha, so dinner happens outside, facing the sea. Both villas have air conditioning, wifi, free parking, and pets are welcome.
The view, plus the beaches below it
The coastline you admire from the terrace is minutes away by car: Benedettu beach in about 5 minutes, Cala Rossa in 5 to 10, Saint-Cyprien in about 10 and Pinarello with its Genoese tower in 15. Porto-Vecchio's old town and marina are 5 to 10 minutes away, Palombaggia and Santa Giulia 25 to 30, and Figari airport 30 to 40. You book direct with the owners, Juliette and Stéphane, who have welcomed guests here since 2017: no middleman, unlike the rental platforms which add roughly 15 to 20% commission. FAQ
Do both villas have a sea view, or only Villa Giulio?
Both. The two villas share the same first-line hillside position above Stagnolu bay, facing the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. Giulio adds sea views from all 5 bedrooms and an gulf-facing pool facing the gulf; Giulietta offers the panorama from its terrace and belvedere.
Which villa should we choose for the best sunset views?
Villa Giulio's gulf-facing pool and 160 m² of terraces face the gulf directly, making it the natural choice for sunset swims. Giulietta's belvedere among the vines is a lovely alternative. For 20 guests, book both: they are only 40 metres apart.
Can we see the sea from the dining areas?
Yes. Giulio's 75 m² living room opens onto sea-facing terraces, and Giulietta's 150 m² teak terrace with its summer kitchen and plancha looks over the gulf, so most meals happen outdoors with the water in view.
