Villa with Heated Pool in Corsica, from May to October
A heated pool changes what a Corsican holiday can be: morning lengths in May, evening swims under the stars in October. On the hillside above Stagnolu bay, at La Trinité de Porto-Vecchio, our two family villas each have a heated saltwater pool facing the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, bookable together or separately, direct with the owners.
Why heated saltwater makes the difference
In southern Corsica the sea is glorious in July and August, but in May, June, September and October it can be brisk. A heated pool extends real swimming to six months of the year, and saltwater treatment means gentler water on skin and eyes than heavy chlorine. Both of our villas run heated saltwater pools, so an early-season or autumn stay is not a compromise: you swim every day, and the pools stay comfortable well after sunset. Evening swims with the lights of the gulf below are part of the rhythm of the house. If you are considering a shoulder-season week, our French page on October stays covers the same idea in more depth.
Villa Giulio: a heated gulf-facing pool facing the gulf
Villa Giulio's large heated saltwater pool facing the gulf sits at the edge of the terrace, its rim dissolving into the first-line view over the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. Around it: 160 m² of terraces plus a 20 m² covered pool house, so there is shade and seating whatever the hour. The villa itself sleeps 10 across 5 sea-view bedrooms, including 3 suites over 20 m², with a 75 m² living room, a private cinema room, a gym, an island bathtub and floor-cooling for hot afternoons. It is the pool for swimmers who want the horizon in front of them, morning and night.
Villa Giulietta: a 13x4 m pool with a children's basin
Villa Giulietta takes the family angle. Its heated saltwater pool measures a generous 13 by 4 metres, long enough for proper lengths, and includes a separate children's basin where little ones paddle in shallow, warmed water within sight of the 150 m² teak terrace and its summer kitchen with plancha. The 1600 m² enclosed grounds, with vines, olive trees and a belvedere, keep children safely inside, and the giant chess, badminton, table football and pétanque court fill the hours between swims. Giulietta also sleeps 10, in 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms, 40 m from Giulio.
Two heated pools, one hillside, booked direct
Book either villa for up to 10 guests, or both together for 20: two heated pools 40 metres apart mean nobody queues for a swim. Beaches stay close when you want the sea as well, with Benedettu about 5 minutes' drive and Cala Rossa 5 to 10. Since 2017 we, Juliette and Stéphane, have rented the villas directly, with no middleman; rental platforms typically add roughly 15 to 20% in commission that direct guests simply do not pay. FAQ
What temperature can we expect in the pools outside summer?
Both pools are heated, which is exactly why we advertise swimming from May to October. Early and late season, the heating keeps the water comfortable for daily swims, including in the evening, when the sea itself is still too cold for most guests.
Is a saltwater pool suitable for children and sensitive skin?
Yes. Saltwater treatment is noticeably gentler on eyes and skin than heavily chlorinated water. At Villa Giulietta, children also have their own shallow basin beside the main 13x4 m pool, so they can play in warm water at their own depth.
Can we swim in the evening?
Absolutely, and we recommend it. Because both pools are heated, evening swims are comfortable throughout the season. At Villa Giulio the gulf-facing pool faces the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio, so a night swim comes with the lights of the bay below.
